Square Inch Price
Pricing & Services
I offer edge-to-edge quilting services priced between 2.75¢ and 3.5¢ per square inch, depending on the design and quilting density. Pricing is determined by the density of the quilting, which is based on the number of bobbins used and the total stitches in the computerized program. Designs can be adjusted in size, with pricing reflecting these changes.
Example:
A quilt top measuring 60 inches x 80 inches (60 x 80 = 4,800 square inches) would start at $132.00, with final pricing dependent on the design and density.
Minimum Charge:
The minimum quilting charge is $50. If your quilt or table runner falls below this amount, the total cost will be rounded up to meet the minimum charge.
Turnaround Time:
The current turnaround time is approximately 2–3 weeks.
Economy Designs:
For those looking for a budget-friendly option, I offer Economy Designs at 2¢ per square inch. These are simple, versatile patterns—perfect for projects where you just need to get it finished quickly and affordably.
Rush Orders:
Need your quilt done fast? I offer a rush service for an additional $75, with completion within 3 days of receipt. Please contact me prior to drop-off to confirm availability.
Batting
I use and stock my favorite Quilters Dream batting in the 70/30 cotton/silky blend, 80/20 cotton/poly blend, 100% cotton-both Select and Deluxe, Bamboo blend, Wool and Puff Poly. I also carry King size batting in Select and Bamboo.
80/20 blend come in white-all others are natural color.
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch.
For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" of the batting of your choice.
-
65" of 100% cotton Deluxe OR Wool @ $0.50/in = $32.50
-
65" of 70/30 cotton/silky blend OR Puff Poly @ $0.40/in = $26.00
-
65" of Dream Bamboo OR cotton Select OR 80/20 Cotton/poly blend@ $0.45/in = $29.25
-
King batting-100% cotton-Select loft only and Bamboo (used in any quilt with ALL sides OVER 87") $0.60/in
**You may supply your own batting, but I cannot guarantee the outcome of the thread tension. Quilter's Dream works flawlessly with my machine and thread so I definitely recommend using it for a great result!
Thread Fee
With the recent rise in the costs of supplies, I now charge a thread fee for each quilt instead of raising my per inch rates. Charges will be: $10.00 for quilts using 1-4 bobbins, $15.00 for 5-8 bobbins and $20.00 for 9+ bobbins. My APQS Millie uses M size bobbins and they hold lots of thread! For example- a Queen size (90x108) using a mid dense pattern uses about 5-6 bobbins and a King size ( 110x108) will use about 8.
As part of my e2e fee I am happy to trim your quilt after quilting for no additional fee.
I use Glide Thread exclusively, and I keep a large variety of colors in stock.
My personal style attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color. The same thread color will be used in both top and bobbin thread.
I have recently started carrying Affinity variegated thread in all the colors! There is an extra charge of $5.00 and the bobbin thread will be a complimentary solid color.

Binding
I am happy to bind your quilt for you! Provide me with enough yardage of selected fabric and I will machine bind- attached to back of quilt and stitched to the front. Cost is $.25/linear inch. A quilt 60x80/ 280 linear inches= $70.00
I have a friend who will hand bind for $40-$60 depending on size. $.15/linear inch for me to attach and she will finish.
**Minimum charge is $25.00 per item

Photography
I'm not a professional photographer but I do my best to take quality photos of your completed quilt. Upon completion of the quilting, I will take photos of your quilt in my well-lit studio and then text/email you those images to use however you would like. I'd just ask that you credit me for the photo and/or quilting if posting publicly. This extra service is included in your square inch price.
Shipping
Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in Colorado, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.
Return shipping: $15.00 flat fee per quilt for the first 2, regardless of quilt size. Any quilts over 2 in the same order will ship at no additional cost!
Other Costs
As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price. I'm required by the State of Colorado to collect a 8.15% sales tax on batting or design/pantograph fees. There is no tax on shipping or quilting fees. No sales tax is charged to customers outside the state of Colorado.
I also charge $30/hr for my time spent ironing, clipping threads or repairing seams to get the quilt ready for quilting and for time and materials spent working in fullness on quilts that are not square. Those fees can easily be avoided by taking some time to prepare your quilt before giving it to me! :)
Payment
After the work is complete, I will email invoice you via Wave Accounting. I accept credit cards/bank transfers/Paypal, Zelle, cash and checks. I really do appreciate timely payments as that enables me to mail your project(s) back to you right away.
